CAF Champions League: Quarter finals draws held

Tanzanian giants Simba SC were drawn against defending Champions Waydad Casablanca at Quarter finals in draws conducted on Wednesday in Cairo, Egypt.

Simba SC will look to reach Semifinals for the first time since 2004.

In their previous CAF Champions League season 2020/2021, Simba failed to pass on Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa at the quarter finals.

Simba were in Group C were they finished 2nd with 9 points, ahead of Horoya AC and Vipers who had 7 and 2 points respectively.

Waydad Casablanca was in Group A where they topped.

On the other side, Record champions Al Ahly of Egypt will be taking on Raja Casablanca of Morocco.

This will be a repeat of last season quarter finals.

Both teams faced off at quarter finals with Al Ahly reaching the semifinals after a 3-2 win on aggregates.

Raja Casablanca was in group C where they topped with 16 points.

Al Ahly had to make it on the final day with a 3-0 win against Hilal to finish 2nd in group B with 10 points.

Other Quarter final draws

South Africa’s giants Mamelodi Sundowns will be taking on CR Belouizdad of Algeria.

JS Kablyie of Algeria will be taking on Esperence de Tunis of Tunisia.

At Semifinals, the winner between Simba and Waydad will be taking on the winner between Mamelodi Sundowns and CR Belouizdad.

In other Semi final, the winner between Raja Casablanca and Al Ahly will be taking on the winner between JS Kablyie and Esperence de Tunis
