Preview: BUL hunt for first win of the second round

BUL FC will hope to pick their first win this year as they welcome Express in the Uganda Premier League at the FUFA Technical Centre Njeru.

The Eastern Giants have seen a drop in form in the second half of the season.

Simeone Masaba coached side have lost three of six matches they have played this year, drawing the other three.

The Jinja based side will seek vengeance after a 1-0 defeat in the reverse fixture at the Mutesa II Stadium Wankulukuku courtesy of Allan Kayiwa strike.

They will target a reaction after succumbing to a 2-0 defeat to Onduparaka at the Ababet Greenlight Stadium in their last encounter.

When speaking to the club media ahead of the game, BUL FC Head Coach Simeon Masaba is wary of their winless run but he’s confident they will get rid of Express.

“Express has been stubborn against BUL but since they are coming at our home ground, we have tried to correct the mistakes and looking forward to playing a great football” Masaba told the club media.

“We have not won a game in the second half but we are trying very hard to see that we can start winning games”.

Express will be buoyed after picking their first win of the year thrashing Onduparaka 4-1 at Wankulukuku Stadium.

The Red Eagles had gone 11 games without a victory since a 3-0 away victory over Busoga United in November last year at Kakindu Stadium.

James Odoch side will bank on their good records over BUL.

They have won the last four matches and the last time they lost to BUL was a 1-0 away defeat in February 2019.

James Odoch told the club media “Tomorrow we return to League action, we’ve used the time to correct some mistakes at the front”.
