Mbarara City will hope to return to winning ways as they host relegation threatened Luweero United at the Kakyeka Stadium in the FUFA Big League Match-day 26.

The Ankole Lions are winless in their last two games, a blow to their promotion quest.

They lost 2-0 at Kyetume before squandering a two-goal lead to draw with Promotion hopefuls Kitara FC at Kigaaya Primary School Playground in their last outing.

They have since dropped to third position, three and two points below leaders Kitara and Second placed NEC FC in that order, and just a point below Police FC who are fourth.

Against Luweero United, Sadiq Sempiji’s charges will fancy their chances in order to keep their promotion chances alive.

They will also eye a revenge over Luweero United after a 2-1 defeat in the reverse fixture at Luweero Ground.

They will bank on home support to pile more misery on Luweero United who are fighting for their lives in the league.

With five matches to the end of the campaign, Mbarara City sits third with 45 points after 25 matches. 11W, 12D, 2L.

They have scored 39 goals a record bettered by only leaders Kitara and conceeded 19 times with a goal Difference of 20.

Luweero United on the otherside will have to be on top of their game in order to stun the hosts.

They will hope to complete a double over the Ankole Lions.

Every match for the Kosovo boys is a final as they hope to get rid of drop.

They have only five matches starting with this one to save their season and a defeat will just sink them more.

They are just one point below 12th place Kataka FC and a victory will move them as far as 10th if Ndejje University, Kaaro Karungi and Kataka all fail to win their matches.

Luweero United occupies the last red zone in the 13th position with 28 points after 25 matches. 8W, 4D, 13L.

They have scored 27 goals and conceeded 40 times with a goal Difference of -13.

They were delt with a blow after they succumbed to a 2-0 home loss over Ndejje University at the Luweero Ground.
