Former URA Midifielder joins McKinstry at Gor Mahia

Former URA attacking midifielder and captain Shafiq Kagimu has joined Kenyan Premier League side Gor Mahia on a short term deal (4 months).

Kagimu joins as a free agent having parted ways with the tax collectors.

At Gor Mahia, Kagimu is to be managed by Jonathan McKinstry who was once Uganda Cranes head coach.

During McKinstry’s short ERA at Uganda Cranes, He preferred more of using Shafiq kagimu in the attacking midifield role than any other player in Uganda.

Shafiq kagimu, Patrick kaddu of Uganda and Emery Bayisenge from Rwanda are the new recruits for Gor Mahia having officially been lifted by FIFA from their transfer ban.

Shafiq kagimu joins fellow Countrymate Patrick kaddu who joined Gor Mahia earlier in January from Kitara FC.

Shafiq kagimu joined URA FC in 2015 from Water FC and he contributed alot to the tax collectors during his 7 years stay.

At Gor Mahia, Kagimu joins other new signings including Jerome Wangai, Sylvestor Owino, Gilbert Otieno, Parmenas Ochola, Boniface Odhiambo.

Gor Mahia are currently on top of Kenyan Premier League with 42 points from 20 games, 5 points ahead of Second team KCB.
