Cricket: Riazat, Alepsh back in Cricket Cranes squad for Qatar Series

Uganda Cricket Cranes head coach Lawrence Mahatlane has summoned a 14 man squad which will travel to Qatar on Tuesday 14th March for the invitation series.

Alepsh Ramjan, Riazat Ali are back in the squad, Riazat has seen his way back to the cricket cranes after a successful recovery from injury which forced him to miss s out on the Tri nation series in Rwanda last year in December.

Head coach Lawrence Mahatlane has alot of belief in his side with a a focus on helping the team gain a better ODI ranking.

“As a team we are ready, we have been training for the past three months but Qatar is ranked ahead of us in the ODI rankings and this will help us improve.”

“Cricket is taking a different direction and we know that we are also going to try and become relevant in the code of the game.”

“We welcome back Riazat Ali, Alepsh Ramjan and Ronald Patel to the squad after missing out on the Tri nation series in Rwanda, we have a strong squad that will come out victorious in Qatar.”

Joseph Baguma misses out due to school, Emmanuel Hasahya is unavailable and Bilal Hassun is away due to family commitments. They have been replaced by Riazat Ali Shah who returns from injury, Ronak Patel and Alpesh Ramjani who all missed the Rwanda tour. 

The team will depart Uganda tomorrow early in the morning and will play their 1st game on Thursday.
