Arsenal Africa Fans Festival Launched

The official Arsenal Africa Supporters Club officially launched the Arsenal Africa Fans Festival which is due to take place during the Easter holidays from the 7th to the 10th of April.

This was launched on Friday 10th March at Infinity Lounge located at Capital Shoppers plaza in Ntinda under the theme ‘TUGENDE KAMPALA 2023’.

The festival was started in 2016 with their main aim of strengthening the relationship and support they have for their club Arsenal FC who play in the English Premier League.

Kenya Arsenal Fans hosted the inaugural edition in 2016 before Rwanda hosted and Uganda was awarded a chance to host the 2019 edition but due to the COVID 19 pandemic, it was halted hence being postponed to 2023.

The festival will have a couple of Arsenal Supporters Clubs from across Africa take part as Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, South Sudan have already confirmed participation according to the organisers.

The Fans will engage in a couple of activities including the CSR activity which will.be spearheaded by a staunch Arsenal Fan musician turned into politician Mosh Sendi as he will lead them through the areas of Gaba where he represents as the LC5 councilor.

A press release from the organising chairperson Ms Ninaz Ayebare highlighted on the festival’s main goals and targets.

“The festival’s main goal is championing community change through sports which is always conducted in the host country while promoting local tourism. All traveling fans will participate in the charity event to cause change in the communities. 

A member of the famous Invincible squad is expected to grace the occasion and it looks positive for us,” said Ayesiga Ninaz the organising chairperson.

The fans will also compete in various activities as well as traveling across the country.

This time round the Arsenal Fans will celebrate their festival with the hopes of winning a major trophy of the English Premier League where their club Arsenal is topping the log wit five points above second placed Man City.

Arsenal last won the English Premier League 19 years ago under the management of French tactician Arsene Wenger when they won the trophy unbeaten in the 2003/2004 season.
