After the sacking of head coach Beto Bianchi at the Kitende based side where he spent only two months, Alex Isabirye Musongola emerged as the potential candidate for the vacant job at Vipers SC.
Isabirye confirmed his departure from BUL FC as hi bid an emotional farewell to the staff and players of the Jinja based club and is set to be unveiled as the new Vipers head coach.
This was after BUL FC defeated SC Villa 1-0 on Saturday 11th in their replayed game in the Stanbic Uganda Cup at FUFA Technical Center Njeru.
Isabirye is to replace Beto Bianchi who was sacked after 58 days as personal terms with the management has been agreed.
Vipers SC parted ways with Beto Bianchi on Thursday following poor results of the team including a double loss of Tanzanian giants in CAF Champions league.
Isabirye has been so influential at BUL FC as he helped them win their first ever Uganda Cup trophy last season as they defeated Vipers in the finals, this saw BUL FC participate in the confederation cup preliminary round despite not progressing through.
Leaving that aside, Performance wise Isabirye has turned BUL FC into a Competing team this season.
BUL FC is currently in the 3rd place with 29 points from 17 games just 6 points below the table leaders Kasasiro boys.
Experience wise, Vipers think Isabirye could still be a better option having won UPL title with URA and Coached other better sides like Kyetume, Soana, Busoga United and Horseed FC.
Isabirye’s main task will be to help Sinking Vipers get back on track.
In CAF Champions league, Vipers are Currently last with 1 point and Isabirye will have to prove the management against remaining two games of Raja Casablanca in Uganda and Horoya AC in Guinea.
In Stanbic Uganda Cup, Isabirye will start with Wakiso Giants in the round of 16 and his main task will be to guide the team into quarter finals.
In Uganda premier league, Vipers are 7 points below the table leaders and his main task will be to guide the team defend the trophy.
