AFCON Qualifiers: Uganda Cranes head Coach Micho Sredjovic eager for maximum points in Tanzania clash

Uganda Cranes take on Tanzania in their return leg in Dar es Salaam at Benjamin Mpaka stadium today Tuesday 28th March in what could be a deciding game to whether they still fancy chances of qualifying out of the group.

Their first clash in Ismailia at Suez Canal Authority Stadium ended in favour of Tanzania with Simon Msuva scoring the only goal for Tanzania.

 While addressing the press, Micho reveals on how the 96 hours from the first leg to today’s game could be a blessing for redemption.

“In past times, We had a situation where after one match of the National team, you wait three months to either be happy that you have won or analysis why you have  lost”. 

He Continued ” Now this is a blessing in disguise after 96 hours, we have a chance for redemption. We have a chance on the pain we felt after losing to throw at Benjamin Mpaka stadium and see how football will give us “.

Further more, Micho reveals on how his team will work more for a better result than it was in Ismailia.

“We believe in us, the country we are representing and the players that are representing their people. We are here to play with our brothers from Tanzania with highest degree of respect fully aware there is a thin line between success and failure “.

“We shall try to learn towards something that leads us towards much better moods and happiness than it was the other day”. 

Simon Msuva who was the only difference in the first clash called upon fellow Tanzanians for full support towards the return clash.

“We thank God  for the win  in the previous game but that’s behind us”.

“Our Focus now is on the game   tomorrow (Tuesday) and we expect it tough. l call upon fans to come and support us so that we enlighten our chances of qualifying for AFCON “.

Uganda Cranes are to miss services of Steven Sserwadda who was declared unfit to play, Gavin Kizzito and Sadat Anaku who all have injuries.

On the other side, Tanzania have no reported cases of injuries apart from Bakari Mwamnyeta who will miss because of displinary issues.

Uganda are buttom of Group F with 1 point out of the possible 9 points, Tanzania are second with 4 points in 3 games.

Algeria who already qualified comes first with 12 points while Niger comes third with 2 points.
