Uganda Premier league: URA FC defeat Express to register second consecutive victory

URA FC defeated Express FC by a 1-0 score in the Startimes Uganda Premier league match played at Nakisunga Saza ground to register a back to back win for the very first time in the 2022/2023 season.

Nicolas Kabonge scored the only goal of the match to gift the tax collectors a massive victory as they look to have gained their best form of the season under head coach Sam Timbe.

Both teams had chances to change the score though they both missed.

For the tax collectors, Hassan kalega and Joseph Ssemujju missed Crucial chances that would help their team win by a high goal Margin.

Express FC created more chances with one hitting the woodwork.

lsma kawawulo, Joseph Akandwanaho and Allan Kayiwa all had chances to grab Express FC a point.

A 1-0 loss to the Red Eagles means that they have now gone 9 games minus winning and only scoring 2 in their previous 7 games.

For the first time this Season, URA FC have registered back to back league wins.

Meanwhile, Express FC haven’t yet won any game since November 2022 , their last win was against Busoga United FC.

URA FC are now in the 9th place with 20 points from 16games, Meanwhile Express FC sits in the 11th place with 18 points from 16 games just 6 points away from Relegation.

URA FC will return back on 4th March with a visit to BUL FC at FUFA Technical Center Njeru.

On the other hand, Express FC will host rivals SC Villa on 5th March at Mutesa ii Wankulukuku Stadium.
