Uganda Hippos head Coach praises players performance against Central African Republic

Uganda Hippos started well in their opening match defeating Central African Republic a score of 2-1 thanks to goals from Captain Isma Mugulusi and John Paul Dembe.

In the post match press Conference , Jackson Mayanja revealed how it’s not easy to win the first game in a big tournament and gave credit to his boys for dominating the game though most of the them were on debus in the tournament.

” My lads played a good game and the first game is not always at big tournaments like this. It’s a big stage for the players and we won against a good team”.

” Like l said this is a big stage and most of these boys are playing at this stage for the first time, we were a bit Shaky in the first half but when the nerves settles, the boys were dominated and that tells our performance in the second half “.

Mayanja added how the team has much to deliver and how the team will get better as more matches are played.

“The big stages are always difficult in the first match but as we go on we will get better. We have alot to deliver but expression wise some of them did that today”.

In the other game in Group B, Congo Brazzaville defeated Debutants South Sudan with a score of 2-1.

Uganda Hippos will be back in action on Thursday 23rd as they will be playing Congo Brazzaville.
