Our Champions League campaign starts against Horoya – Milton Kariisa

Uganda’s representatives in the CAF champions league group stages Vipers SC look set and ready to write wonders in their second group stage game as they take on Horoya AC of Guinea.

The Venoms skipper Milton Kariisa has got alot of hope in his teammates as he urged them to make it count playing at home dubbing it a start to the CAF champions League journey.

Kariisa looks forward to rewrite the script which saw Vipers lose their first group stage game by a 5-0 score against Raja Casablanca in Morocco.

“I can declare that our Champions League campaign officially starts with this match. We are at home and we have to show how good we are. I am just calling on the fans to come out and back us.”

“We are very ready. We lost the first match and that sets the mark for us. Everybody is willing and ready to die a little for Vipers because we know how good we can be if we play to our potential.”

The skipper went ahead to urge the players stage a fighting spirit and win the game for the fans who have always supported their team and seeing them lose against Raja Casablanca was a huge blow to them.

“We want to go out and make them proud again, am sure it was hard for them to watch us against Raja, so tomorrow we must make amends and give them something to cheer about.”

Horoya AC come into this tie with an upper hand as they currently sit second in the group after claiming a 1-0 win against Tanzania side Simba SC in their first group stage.

Vipers SC are yet to win a game in full time under the new management of Brazilian-Spanish head coach Beto Bianchi with their last game in Uganda cup ending in a goalless score against Jinja North United and progressed to the next round through penalties.

They will miss the services of electric winger Abdul Lumala who suffered a knock in their first group stage game against Raja Casablanca, also Marvin Joseph Youngman remains side lined with an injury.
