CAF president Dr. Patrice Motsepe has revealed how the U17 AFCON Tournament adds on to the growth and development of football in Africa.
Dr. Patrice Motsepe has encouraged young players and revealed how their talents can be improved as the whole world will be eying at them in the upcoming tournament.
“We must present a message of encouragement to all young players in the participating teams. This competition will include the best counties on the continent, and the whole world will watch them”.
“A championship in Africa with players at the age must present a good image of African football and the reaction of Young players during this tournament must be strong “.
“The Total Energies U17 AFCON is as important as other African Competitions and you can see from the draw that the competition will be strong among the participating teams “.
Algeria has hosted the 2023 edition Which is kicking off on 29th April to May 18th.
U-17 AFCON games will be conducted in three cities of Algeria including Algiers, Annaba and Constantine.
The top four teams of the tournament will qualify for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World cup in Peru as the CAF representatives.
Cameroon are the defending Champions having won the 2019 edition as the 2021 edition was cancelled.
