Uganda’s representatives at the CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers both boys and girls had a perfect start winning their opening games in Dar es salaam Tanzania.
For boys, Uganda’s representatives Royal Giants won their first opening game (2-0) against Tanzania’s side Benjamin Mkapa SS thanks to goals from Enock Bagenda and Thomas Ogema.
For girls, The Bukedea side Amus College won their first two opening games in the group stage booking a ticket to the Semi finals.
Amus College first defeated Al jadida from Sudan (3-0) thanks to goals from Asia kakai, Sharom Nabunya and Joan Namungo.
Amus College then defeated CEM Baulous from Djibouti 1-0 which was their second game thanks to a penalty goal from Priscilla Fauchan.
Royal Giants high school will resume today on 18th Feb with two games against Ecofo Gasanda from Burundi and CEM Baulous from Djibouti.
Meanwhile Amus College -Bukedea will take on Kiramuzi MS from Rwanda in 18th Feb to determine which position is she to finish.
Semi finals and finals will be there on 19th Feb (Sunday).
Winners both girls and boys will be awarded with USD 100,000 while the runners up with USD 75,000 and for those with Bronze USD 50,000.
