The FUFA Big league returns on match day 17 with a huge fixture coming up in the battle for the top spot as Police FC who sit fourth on the table welcome table leaders NEC FC at Kavumba recreation playgrounds.

Police FC are just three points below log leaders NEC FC and a win will see them level up on points as they sit fourth with 30 points from 16 games whereas NEC leads the table with 33 points.

Kitara FC dropped to the second position after a draw in their last game and they now have 32 points just one above Mbarara City who sit third with 31 points from 16 games played.

This has mad the battle for who qualifiers to the 2023/2024 top flight league much tighter and matches like this write a huge statement in the one who will stay strong to seal a qualifying slot.

Police FC head coach Angelo Lonyesi has urged his side to use the home advantage of they are to pick up maximum points against NEC FC despite hinting up on the fairness of the referees.

“In case the referees are fair it will be a good game after all they are coming to our home ground.”

“We just have to use our home advantage so well as they did in the first round then victory will be on our side going to level with them.” Said coach Angelo Lonyesi.

Police FC lost the first leg tie by a 2-0 away against NEC FC at Bugolobi Coffee playgrounds and they seek for revenge in the return leg.

Police FC struggled as they lost against Lugazi United by a 1-0 score in their last Big league game but will have a boosted up squad as they welcome back club captain Joseph Ssentume and goalkeeper Davis Mutebi who missed the game due to suspension.

NEC FC look to have shifted all the focus on the FUFA Big league as they seek a place in next seasons top flight league, they were eliminated from the Uganda cup by Pajule Lions by a 1-0 score but they come into the Police FC tie with a massive 1-0 victory at home against Calvary FC which saw them clinch the top of the table slot.
