FUFA reignites MTN marriage in five years partnership

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) officially announced telecom company MTN as the new Uganda national football teams sponsors for a period of 5years in a 19 billion mega deal.

This was announced at Serena hotel in Kampala after the expiry of the Airtel deal which lasted for ten years.

The FUFA president Moses a Hashim Magogo is looking forward to excitement MTN can bring back to fans in supporting their nation through the experience they have in sports promotion but also the big money deal involved was key to strike the new partnership.

“We know what MTN can do, we know what they have done in the past. We know how they can attract fans back into the stadium and now with the current technology they can reach the fans from everywhere they are,”

“We believe that we can take football to everyone where they are and its not only Uganda Cranes but a number of other properties.”

“They bring Excitement and engagement with the fans, I think that is an area where we have not done well in the past. Fans love their team irrespective of the results.”
