Big League: NEC FC defeats Kataka as leaders Kitara drop points

The FUFA Big League first round came to a climax with a couple of mixed results from match day 15 games played at various playgrounds.

The Bugolobi based side NEC FC returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win at home against Kataka to end the first round on a high.

Goals from Kimwero Shamiru and Kiberu Ronny were just enough to gift NEC FC maximum points at home as they closed in the top of the table gap to a 1point leader as Kitara and Mbarara City dropped points.

NEC FC maintain their third spot on the log with 30 points from 15 games as they are on level witu second placed Mbarara City band just a point behind table leaders Kitara.

Kitara FC played out to a 1-1 draw against Kaaro Karungi at St George Arena in Ibanda. 

Lazaro Kiberu opened up the scoring as he put Kitara ahead with just seven minutes on his debut before a second half equaliser from the hosts Kaaro Karungi in the 50th minute.

Elsewhere, Mbarara City played out to a 1-1 draw away against Northern Gateway as they squandered a chance to move top of the log and only managed to close the gap to just a 1 point difference.
