Wakiso Giants set to bounce back against Busoga United

Wakiso Giants are targeting to bounce back to winning ways as they host struggling Busoga United in the Startimes Uganda Premier league match at Kabaka Kyabagu Stadium in Wakiso.

The purple sharks suffered a 2-1 loss against BUL FC away from home in their previous league match putting an end to their unbeaten run of nine game Inna row as they dropped from the top of the table to sit fourth with 21 points.

They are eager to fight for maximum points as they host Busoga United who have lost their last three consecutive games without scoring a goal. Busoga lost to Express FC 3-0, losing the Jinja derby against BUL FC 2-0 and recently losing at home 1-0 against Bright Stars.

Wakiso Giants head coach John Luyinda Ayala is confident of securing maximum points at home where they are yet to lose a single game with their better performance coming Infront of their fans.

“We play a team that has gone many games without a win and they will be desperate and aggressive but we have a motivation factor which is playing at home where we haven’t lost any game.” said Coach Ayala.

Busoga United have endured a tougher first round in the league as they have only been limited to just two wins with little scoring chances created as they have only managed to see the back of the net on two separate occasions to sit 10th on the log with three points.

 They face a tougher task as they visit Wakiso Giants in hunt for their first away win of the season as they look forward to beat the relegation battle as early as possible.

Club captain Derrick Basoga remains hopefully of overturning the situation they are currently facing at the club despite admitting the tougher times they are going through.

“We know things are currently not easy at our side but one important thing is that we still have hope and we know we can overturn this situation,” said Derrick Basoga.

Any positive away result for Busoga United can be a major boost as they look forward to overcoming the tougher times they face as they remain the only side yet to play out to a draw in the league losing 8 of the 10 games they have played.
