KCCA defeat Busoga United to extend top of the table lead

KCCA FC claimed a 2-1 win against Busoga United in the Startimes Uganda Premier league match at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo as they extended their lead at the top of the table.

A first half penalty from Julius Poloto in the 22nd minute gifted the hosts a lead but it was cancelled out by an equaliser from Laban Tibita to end the first half on a 1-1 score.

Congolese born striker Tshisungu Kankonde came in second half and scored a wonderful goal with a powerful shot from outside the box to beat goalkeeper Micheal Lutaaya restoring KCCA FC’s lead.

The Kasasiro boys have bounced back to winning ways coming off a 1-1 draw against BUL FC in their previous as they now extended their top of the table lead to a five points gap ahead of second placed Vipers before they play their fixture.

KCCA FC will round off their first half fixture of the league as they visit Bright Stars at Kavumba recreation playgrounds.

Busoga United continue struggling as they remain in the 14th position on the table and will see their last game of first round come up against Vipers at their home in Njeru.
