Busoga United meet Gaddafi in the Jinja derby

Busoga United will host Gaddafi FC at Kakindu stadium in the second Jinja derby of the Startimes Uganda Premier league.

Busoga United have had a struggling start in the league despite winning their second league game against new comers Blacks Power.

They have went on to lose three consecutive games which has seen them sit 12th on the log with three points from five games.

Club captain Derrick Basoga has called upon his teammates to fight for the pride of the club ‘Eyaiffe’ as they look forward to rejuvenate their season early as possible.

“Gaddafi’s game is the only opportunity we have to move away from the red zone, we shall play as team for maximum points.” 

“We are ready for the game  and since it’s a derby, our focus is projected onto winning the game and keeping the pride of Busoga United ‘eyaiffe’. The boys are in good conditions and ready for the battle.” Said Derrick Basoga.

Gaddafi FC will be playing their second consecutive Jinja derby after fighting for a 1-1 draw against BUL FC in their last League game.

The are yet to win  a league game and head coach Wasswa Bbosa has highlighted out the failure to convert chances they create as one of the reasons they are yet to win games.

They have managed three league draws as their only loss was against SC Villa away from home.

“We are back for our fifth game in the league as we are yet to register a single victory, we create alot of chances but we fail to convert them which has seen us struggle in the previous games.”

“We have put more efforts on strengthening our team in he final third so that we can convert the chances we create and add on the goals we score for us to be able to win games.” Said Coach Wasswa Bbosa.

Gaddafi FC are struggling with injuries in their camp as Sadiq Ssekyembe and Mahad Yahaya also sidelined along side Nicolas Kasozi, Amos Kirya and Douglas Bithum.

Godfrey Lwesibawa will fancy a starting slot in the team after returning back from National team engagements with the sand cranes squad in Mozambique.
