Jackson Mayanja replaces Byekwaso for the Hippos job

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has appointed Jackson Mayanja as the interim head coach of the Uganda U20 national team.

The former Kyetume FC head coach has replaced coach Morley Byekwaso who is still engaged with club duties at KCCA FC.

Mayanja will be deputised by Someone Masaba as his first Assistant and Noah Babadi Kasule and their duties will begin at the U20 Africa cup of Nations zonal qualifiers in Sudan from the 28th October to 11th November 2022.

The Uganda Hippos is currently in camp at the cranes paradise hotel in Kisasi and they will have a friendly game against KCCA FC today evening in preparation for the qualifiers.

Morley Byekwaso managed to guide the Hippos to their first AFCON U20 tournament and earned them a runners up Finnish losing the finals to Ghana on a 2-0 score.
