She Corporates midfielder Phionah Nabbumba has been crowned August’s Footballer of the month in the awards organized by Fortebet dubbed the Real Stars Awards.
Nabbumba was instrumental in She Corporates run in the CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers for the Women’s CAF Champions League.
They however fell short after getting beaten by Simba Queens by a goal to nil.
This was the club’s first appearance in the competition but they managed to perform brilliantly.
Nabbumba scored 6 times and assisted 5 times giving her an 11 goal involvement.
The Crested Cranes player beat off competition from Uganda Cranes youngster Travis Mutyaba and Ffumbe clan’s Daniel Sserunkuma.
Athletes from other sports discplines were also awarded at this ceremony held at Route 256 restaurant in Lugogo
Jacob Kiplimo, Brenda Ekone, Husnah Kakundakwe, and the pair of Duncan Mubiru Kikankane and Musa Nsubaga were named August’s finest in Athletics, Basketball, Swimming, and Rally respectively
