Joseph Ochaya gives Vipers the only weapon to defeat TP Mazembe

Uganda Cranes player Joseph Ochaya has provided Vipers with the only tip to beat TP Mazembe as the two sides clash in the preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

According to Ochaya, belief is the only way for the Venoms to overcome the Congolese giants.

It should be recalled that Ochaya has been playing for the Congolese club for 4 years since 2018 before joining Egyptian side Arab contractors in this transfer window.

And the Ugandan really knows the 5 time CAF Champions League winners very well.

Ochaya while speaking to Football 256 said that Mazembe is no longer the force it once was.

It has been weakened in a number of ways and areas.

“Vipers can, if they believe in themselves,” Ochaya told Football256 before adding.

“They just have to come with the right mentality and attitude because that is the only way to overcome intimidation in such competitions.”

“Mazembe used to be strong, but not anymore, they are weakened in so many areas and the playing staff has been affected greatly,” Ochaya added.

“That is because of their history in the competition, but you can’t say they are at the same level with teams like Sundowns, Al Ahly, Zamalek or even Simba and Yanga in Tanzania, Ochaya noted.

Vipers will be the first to host TP Mazembe at St Mary’s stadium in Kitende on the 8th of October.

A return leg will then be played on the 15th of October in Kinshasa.

The winner on aggregate will advance to the group stages of the CAF Champions League.

Vipers will be hoping to advance to the group stages for the first time in the 6 years they have qualified for the preliminary rounds.
