FUFA Drum: West Nile thump Kampala to register first led advantage

West Nile province were 4-0 winner over Kampala in the FUFA Drum quarterfinals first leg match played at Green light stadium in Arua.

Striker Muhammad Shaban netted a brace as Cromwell Rwothomio and Gadaffi Wahab each adding a goal to complete the 4-0 thumping.

Kampala looked a more shaky side as they made a trip to the west Nile with alot of absentee who are engaged with their club duties.

Leathal forward Fahad Bayo who was playing his first match in the FUFA Drum tournament was a vital figure as he set up Shaban in the 42nd minute of the game to give West Nile a deserved lead before the break.

Kampala tried to get back into the game but a combination of Shaban and Bayo upfront was unavoidable as Bayo again set up Shaban with just six minutes in the second half to double their lead.

Striker Muhammad Shaban missed out on the opportunity of a hat trick as he couldn’t continue with the game after landing badly sustaining an injury which forced him out.

Cromwell Rwothomio came off the bench to register his name on the scorers sheet as he netted in the 61st minute with the help of Bayo.

Bayo also set up Gaddafi Wahab for the fourth with just eight minutes to stoppage time for the fourth.

Bayo’s brilliant performance which saw him get involved in all the four goals on the day earned him a man of the match award and walked away with 100,000 Uganda Shillings with the accolade.

Kampala will have lot of work to do when they hist the second leg in order to see a slight chance of progressing to the Semifinals.
