Peterhead have confirmed the capturing of the former Express skipper and a deal is bound to completion with a work permit and clearance from the FA.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of Ugandan defender Enock Walusimbi. We are now just awaiting clearance from the Scottish Football Association and his work visa. We said we would leave no stone unturned in terms of getting players to the club and Enock’s signing is another example of that.”

Peterhead have been monitoring the situation of the Ugandan defender during his trials in Scotland and manager Jim Mclnally is a huge admirer of the defender.

“We made a move for Enock about four weeks ago and there have been a few hurdles to overcome but the contract has been signed now which is a huge step forward and a bit of a coup for the club.” said manager Jim Mclnally.

Walusimbi who impressed during his trial stint at Dundee United as part of team Fundi project was bound to seal a move to Dundee United but failed to impress the new bosses at the club.

He becomes the second player from the Fundi project to secure a lucrative deal in Scotland after striker Sadat Anaku signed for Dundee United.
