Contract renewal for Arthur Kiggundu at Express FC

2021 Uganda Premier League champions Express FC have announced how left back Arthur Kiggundu has penned a 2 year contract extension at Wankulukuku.

Nicknamed Boca the Big Dog, the strong defender has been out of contract with the club after the previous one expired last month.

He was part of Express’ double title winning 2020-21 season where they clinched the CECAFA Kagame Cup and League Title.

While speaking to the club’s website after signing the contract, he said that he’s already enjoying himself at the Red Eagles and feels reborn again.

Besides he can’t wait to lift his next league silverware with the Mukwano Gwabangi.

“Playing for any club is a good thing but playing for Mukwano Gwabangi an extreme feeling. I am here for my next uganda Premier League Silverware this season. I am already enjoying the moment with the new talented players that have joined the team. I cannot wait for the season to resume.”

Others that have renewed their contracts at Express include new club captain Isa Lumu and central holding midfielder Daniel Shabene.

Head coach James Odoch applauded the player’s decision to stay at the club and he’s optimistic that Kiggundu will be a key figure for the club ahead.

“He (Kiggundu) has composure, good communication and Command. Adding such a talent to our squad will be a good example to a pool of young players we’ve added onto the team. Arthur has been in the league with Express FC since his teenage age and am certain he understands the goals of the club better.”

Express will begin their 2022-2023 Uganda Premier League campaign against UPDF away from home at Bombo military grounds on the 1st of October 2022.
