BUL FC played out to a goalless draw against Egyptian side Future FC in the CAF confederation cup preliminary round at the St. Mary’s stadium in Kitende.
A game of two halves saw Future FC dominant in the first stanza as they controlled the game.
In the 12th minute of the game, Mohammed Farouk missed a golden opportunity to put the visitors ahead as he dribbled past the BUL FC defence to set himself with a keeper to beat chance.
BUL FC seemed nervous as they played from the back foot as they survived a couple of chances from Ahmed Atef who was so wasteful Infront of goal on three occasions.
BUL FC saw their first chance on goal fell to Isma Mugulusi as we edged close to the end of first half but his shot was parried away Mahmoud Abdelrehim for a corner.
In the second half, BUL FC came back a more changed team as they played more of attacking football and created a couple of chances but they were not patient in front of goal.
Karim Ndugwa’s late header seemed to give the hosts a slim victory but it was brilliantly punched out for a corner by goalkeeper Mahmoud Abdelrehim in the 92nd minute of the game as it ended in a draw.
BUL FC will carry a slim advantage as they will travel to Egypt for the second leg tie in the 17th September.
The winner on aggregated score will progress to the next round of the qualifiers.
