CAF announces dates for holding the CHAN tournament draw

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the dates on which the draw for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) will take place.

According to the official communication from CAF, the draw will happen on the 1st of October 2022 .

This ceremony will take place in Algiers and will be broadcast on all CAF platforms.

“The final draw for the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship will be held on Saturday, 01st October 2022 in Algiers, Algeria. The ceremony, which will be broadcast on CAF platforms, will begin at 19h00 local time (18h00 GMT).”

A total of 18 countries are set to take part in this tournament.

These are the ones that successfully qualified including Algeria, the hosts.

The participating countries are Algeria (host country), Morocco, Libya, Senegal, Mali, Mauritania, Côte d’Ivoire, Niger, Ghana, Cameroon, Congo, DR Congo, Uganda, Sudan, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Angola, Madagascar.

It should be recalled that Ugandan qualified after beating neighbors Tanzania on a 4-0 aggregate.

This is the 6th consecutive season the Cranes are participating in this tournament meant for players playing in the domestic leagues of their countries.

Micho’s side who are already in preparations for the tournament scheduled for January 2023 have however never advanced past the groupstages.
