Boxing: Uganda wins two medals at Africa Championships

Uganda Boxing national team the Bombers have won two bronze medals at the on going Africa Boxing Championships in Maputo Mozambique.

Feather weight boxer Kyobe Jonah and Nkobeza Yusufu the middleweight puncher managed to secure bronze for team Uganda despite losing in the semi-finals.

Kyobe lost fight in the semis against Sogauque Armando Rugoberto of Mozambique as Nkobeza also lost in the middle weight category against experienced Moroccan Gharroumi Driss to settle for bronze medals.

The 2022 Africa Boxing Championships in Maputo had a prize money quite interesting as Gold medallist will walk away with 10,000 US dollars, 5,000 for silver and 2500 for bronze.

Both Kyobe and Nkobeza will walk home with 2500 US Dollars each for winning bronze medals.

A team of seven boxers to represented Uganda at the African Championship and they will return home with smiling faces after winning two medals.
