Moses Basena worried about goalless Uganda Cranes

Assistant coach Moses Basena has come out to express his worry about the failure of the Uganda Cranes to find the back of the net in the 3 friendly games they have played so far.

The Cranes played 2 friendlies against Ethiopia losing 1-0 and drawing 0-0. They then lost 1-0 to Zanzibar.

Basena who is coach Milutin Sredojevic aka Micho’s assistant has therefore said that he hopes they are saving the goals for the final game against Tanzania which matters the most.

“We have not scored in three games and I hope we are keeping it for the last game where we need to score,” Basena said after the game against Zanzibar.

“That important goal has to come because we are creating the chances but we are not getting at the end of them.”

“We need to learn how to punish opponents because you can only win after scoring.”

“There should be concentration because on Sunday we have to be at our very best if we are to register a positive result,” he added.

The Cranes will be taking on Tanzania’s Taifa stars in the CHAN qualifier first leg game at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium on the 28th of August which is Sunday.

A return leg will then be played on 3rd September 2022 at the St Mary’s stadium in Kitende.

The winner will then advance to the final CHAN tournament in Algeria next year.

The Uganda Cranes delegation is already in Tanzania ahead of the clash.
