Cricket: Uganda fail Kenya test in Challenge League B

Kenya win by 36 runs.

Kenya defeated Uganda by 36 runs in the ICC Challenge League B series in Jersey denting the cricket cranes qualifications chances.

Uganda won the toss and elected to bowl first limiting the Kenyan batters to a 172 runs for the fall of 9 wickets in 50 overs.

Riazat Ali Shah was so vital as Uganda damaged the Kenya side to 38/4 as youngster Juma Miyagi who came into the start with trust from head coach Mahatlane managed a 36/3 in his 10 overs.

Experienced Frank Nsubuga was the best bowler for the cricket cranes as he was just beaten to 11 runs in 10 overs.

Dinesh Kumar Nakrani was beaten to 37/1 as Henry Ssenyondo completed the bowling for Uganda as in his 10 overs was beaten to 42 runs by the Kenyans.

The chase for team Uganda was Spurred up by Riazat Ali Shah who came in to bat at number 7 and Frank Nsubuga at number 9 putting up 49 runs and 16 respectively.

Cricket cranes batsmen where didn’t perform to their expectations as the fall of wickets was to easy for team Kenya. Simon Ssesazi, Dinesh Nakrani, Juma Miyagi and Fred Achelam all were restricted to registering even a single run.

The loss for the Cricket cranes limits their chances of making it to the next qualifying round as they sit  third spot just two points behind leader Jersey and a point behind second placed Hong Kong.

A slip for Jersey and Hong Kong will be vital for the cricket cranes who will face off with Bermuda in their next outing at the ICC Challenge League B series in Jersey.
