Commonwealth Games: She cranes suffer second loss against hosts England

The Uganda Netball team the she cranes succumbed to a 56-35 loss against England at the ongoing commonwealth games.

The world’s number two the Vitality Roses from England were too good for the She cranes team as the took up an early lead in the game dominating the first quarter by a 13-7 score.

Uganda tried to play a catch up game against the commonwealth defending champions but an early injury to team captain Peace Proscovia worsened the moments for Uganda who trailed by a 10 points gap at halftime with a 25-15 score.

Eleanor Caldwell was vital as England claimed a 56-35 win, Caldwell registered the highest points on the day with 27 goals as Hellen Housby put up 15 goals.

Uganda now lose their second game in the tournament after their first defeat coming against New Zealand in the opening game.

The She cranes managed to make a come back as they defeated Trinidad and Tobago in their second game, they will hope to bounce back to winning ways as they take on Northern Ireland on Wednesday.
