CHAN Qualifiers: Uganda to face Ethiopia in two friendly games

The Uganda national football team will play two friendly games against Ethiopia in preparation for the upcoming CHAN qualifiers.

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed the two friendly games which will be played in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on Friday and Sunday this week.

The cranes under head coach Micho Multin Sredjovic started early preparations ahead of the qualifier games against Tanzania entering into camp on the 25th July.

Coach Micho believes that the two friendly games will play a huge boost to the squad fine tuning them for the qualifiers.

“From 25th of July when we started preparations, I believe we have done a good job considering players were coming from off season. We now have to engage a polishing aspect and on Thursday, we shall be flying to Ethiopia where the team will play two friendly matches on Friday and Sunday.”

“Ethiopia is a good team and 95% of their national team players feature in their local league. They beat Egypt in the AFCON Qualifiers and that speaks volumes.” Said Coach Micho.

Uganda will then move to Zanzibar as part of their preparations as they target to get used to the weather conditions having failed to secure a friendly against Malawi.

The cranes will play Tanzania on the 28th August in the first leg at the Benjamin Mkapa national stadium and the return leg will be played on 3rd September at St Mary’s stadium in Kitende.
